In the 70's Manufacturers Hanover Trust insurance ran a campaign advertising how they'd insure "any car." What you see above is one of the ads and that's no Photoshop, or other trickery, it's an actual car built by George Barris.
Barris combined, supposedly, 22 different cars to make it and it toured the country selling insurance. It still exists, too, repainted and living in Europe.
Two more any cars were built for the campaign, each upping the last. Anycar II combined 40 cars.
Here it is today:
Hard to tell if it's worse for wear, or not. It apparently appeared in one of the Pink Panther films and John Lennon liked it so much, he borrowed it for some home movies.
And, finally, Anycar III:
It began as a VW Squareback, believe it or not, and the mini version actually was kept under the hood and ran with battery power. Another 40 cars, all '73-'75 models, gave their life for this prop. See if you can recognize what they were.
